Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) currently cause more than half of workplace injuries so it’s important that when a manual task becomes a hazardous manual task, you take action. MSD risks arise from exposure to physical and/or psychosocial hazards in the workplace. In this article we discuss MSDs and how to help prevent them on farm.
The ongoing wet conditions across NSW has meant that many farmers, employees and contractors have been working long hours and are at risk of fatigue. Fatigue is more than feeling tired and drowsy. In a work context, fatigue is a state of mental and/or physical exhaustion which reduces a person’s ability to perform work safely and effectively. In this article we discuss fatigue, your obligations and strategies to help manage it in your teams.
Storing Flammable Liquids
Many farming businesses store flammable liquids in large volumes and therefore require special attention and care. In this article we discuss your obligations with regards to storing flammable liquids on farm, including classification and risk management requirements.
